THE  YOUTH  ON  A  NEW  FOCUS

The youth, around the world, are a neglected lot. While parents are keen on better child care, and education for the young, they often fail to foresee, what these would make children in future. The recent report of the UNICEF paints a grim picture of the state of the youth  in the industrialised countries, such as UK and the Netherlands. The emerging economies,  such as India and China, as also the developing countries, are also likely to follow the same path.

What does the youth need? Best practices and mentoring will help them to tread on the right path. This is not an easy task. To cultivate an entrepreneurial approach is vital. It would help open their eyes.

Education and entrepreneurship today are poles apart in most countries. Education is often geared to job-orientation. But it often produces many unemployed or those with poor employability. What does it mean? Programmes for the youth are made for them, rather than designed with their involvement

It is against this grim experience, that ISED evolved a Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme, and Youth Entrepreneurship Fund. It does not seek to make them all, entrepreneurs, but be entrepreneurial in their approach. And that need innovative interventions.: research, training and mentoring.

You must obviously have witnessed some young mind which got perverted, on which parents and beloved ones equally lament. You may feel pity. But remember, they are our sons /daughters, whom we failed to be cared, the way they deserved. This should not be repeated.

But for all these to be successful, we need your help: both from the well-meaning individuals and corporates. We accept donations in multiples of US $ 100 and its multiples, which will exclusively be utilised on programmes for the youth. Please address your donations for this not-for-profit activity, in favour of Director ,Institute of Small Enterprises and Development.
